ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (August 3, 2021)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: skating for the win, it’s Silk Sonic and their golden amount of adds. Let’s add ’em up:

“SKATE” LOOKS GREAT: The Top 40 format is headed to Mars… Bruno Mars, that is. His latest collaboration with Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic, titled “Skate”, leads this week’s adds report with 95 stations on impact. The tune also led the logs at the Hot AC, Rhythmic and Urban formats yesterday and today, earning close to 220 adds across all four. Look for it to perform well into the fall, as we await the release date of their full-length effort An Evening With Silk Sonic.

“Industry Baby”, the big collaboration from Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow, remained in second place for another week with 39 more adds. A notch lower, Khalid rounded out the top three with “New Normal”, securing 27 adds on impact.

Charting singles from Bazzi, Camila Cabello and Måneskin returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.

We’ll see you next week for another action-packed adds session.
