Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Ed Sheeran gave the Top 40 format the shivers with his Most Added hit. Let’s add ’em up:
KEEP YOUR ED UP: It was another super start on the Top 40 adds report for the second radio single from Ed Sheeran’s upcoming album =. With 149 stations in its first week, “Shivers” was easily the Most Added song at the Top 40 format, which follows a #36 debut on the chart over the weekend. The tune also dominated at the Hot AC radio format yesterday, securing a robust 57 adds there. “Bad Habits” holds in the top three on both charts.
Justin Bieber is off to a fairly nice start with his new single from the Justice album, which he recently performed on the MTV Video Music Awards. “Ghost” picked up 63 new stations this week and a second place finish. The track debuted at #49 on last Sunday’s published update and a larger jump is expected by this weekend. It also landed in fifth place at the Hot AC format with nine early adds yesterday.
With his recent #1 entry on the Billboard Hot 100, Drake settled into third place on the report with the Future and Young Thug-assisted “Way 2 Sexy”. It secured 48 adds during the session. It was also the Most Added song at the Rhythmic and Urban radio formats this week. A second week at #1 looks very likely for its parent album Certified Lover Boy.
Charting singles from Doja Cat, Tai Verdes and Walker Hayes returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.
We’ll see you next week for another action-packed adds session.
