Sunday afternoon means it’s time for the Record Rewind, highlighting the top new tracks that you might’ve missed during the work week, all from my favorite small label and independent acts out there. If it’s on the site, it’s something that you need to check out!
Across the PGTC SoundCloud page and my playlists on Spotify, these stuck out as my favorite independent songs of the week…
_____
PICK OF THE WEEK: ONE
GRIFFIN OSKAR – “We Don’t Get High (Like We Used To)” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: First appearance
Oskar previously appeared on the Rewind twice as one half of the duo The NGHBRS, though I also enjoyed his previous major label EP Hostage, which was released by Republic in 2017. The strong pop ballad about a lost relationship isn’t lost on our weekly report.
PICK OF THE WEEK: TWO
OSTON – “Shrug” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: First appearance
The Los Angeles-based performer has been steadily putting out her own material and collaborations since 2018, while finding some very solid editorial support on Spotify in the process. Don’t shrug off this catchy track: it’s a quirky and quality bop for your playlist.

For more great new music, these songs are worth a listen…
ALAINA CASTILLO – “Pass You By”
ELIO – “Body Language”
OVERSTREET – “Summertime”
SVRCINA – “Selfish”
