Across the PGTC SoundCloud page and my playlists on Spotify, these stuck out as my favorite independent songs of the week…

_____

FIREKID – “Baby You Done Me Wrong” (not available)
Previously on the Rewind: First appearance
Notes: After an excellent self-titled album in 2015, this soloist turned duo finally returns with a nice folk track with a modern twist.

_____

MINKE – “Maybe 25” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: First appearance
Notes: Following some great social media co-signs, the current single from this London-based singer sounds like a future radio hit.

Sunday afternoon means it’s time for the Record Rewind, highlighting the top new tracks that you might’ve missed during the work week, all from my favorite small label and independent acts out there. If it’s on the site, it’s something that you need to check out!

Across the PGTC SoundCloud page and my playlists on Spotify, these stuck out as my favorite independe2nt songs of the week…

_____

JOHNNY STIMSON – “Gimme Gimme” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Five previous appearances, most recently “End Of Time” (April 2018)
Notes: Stimson’s new one is a groovy throwback tune that could become his best song of 2018. Gimme more jams like this, Johnny.

_____

KNGDAVD – “Eve” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Four previous appearances, most recently “Shame” (May 2017)
Notes: Always dancing on the edge of fresh pop sounds, this New York act rocks a bit on their catchy new track. There’s a game too!

_____

JACOB & FANNY – “Miss You”
NICHOLAS ROBERTS – “I Fall Apart”
SCOTT QUINN – “Fallible Creatures”

RECORD REWIND: PGTC Picks, May 27 – June 2, 2018

Sunday afternoon means it’s time for the Record Rewind, highlighting the top new tracks that you might’ve missed during the work week, all from my favorite small label and independent acts out there. If it’s on the site, it’s something that you need to check out!

Across the PGTC SoundCloud page and my playlists on Spotify, these stuck out as my favorite independe2nt songs of the week…

_____

EMILY WARREN – “Paranoid” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Two previous appearances, most recently “Something To Hold On To” (July 2017)
Notes: We try not to let the pop paranoia sink in, though we suspect this song is a winner. Warren’s solo releases continue to shine!

_____

LAUV – “Enemies” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Ten previous appearances, most recently “Bracelet” (May 2018)
Notes: You know, we haven’t seen Lauv on the Rewind in… oh, a week! With his playlist era completed, this new tune is a highlight.

_____

LIV MIRALDI – “Dilemma” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: First appearance
Notes: Miraldi’s great remake of this massive single from 2002 takes a modern-day R&B classic and turns it into a sugary pop rush.

_____

PRETTY SISTER featuring WHITE GOLD – “Tension” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Two previous appearances, most recently “Thirsty” (November 2016) / First appearance
Notes: No sibling rivalry here! Zak Waters’s first cut in over a year is, by far, the filthiest and funkiest jam in the bunch this Sunday.

_____

R3HAB x QUINN LEWIS – “How You’ve Been” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: First appearance / Four previous appearances, most recently “Weekend Luv” (April 2018)
Notes: When PGTC favorite Lewis teams up with one of the hottest DJs/producers around, you know it’s going to be one giant bop!

_____

For more great new music, these songs are worth a listen…
ALLIE X – “Focus”
BETTY WHO – “All Things”
CHELSEA CUTLER – “Someone Else”
FLY BY MIDNIGHT – “All The Feels”

RECORD REWIND: PGTC Picks, 11/26 – 12/2/17

Sunday afternoon means it’s time for the Record Rewind, highlighting the top new tracks that you might’ve missed during the work week, all from my favorite independent acts out there. If it’s on the site, it’s something that you need to check out!

Across the PGTC SoundCloud page and my playlists on Spotify, these stuck out as my favorite independent songs of the week…

_____

NICHOLAS ROBERTS – “Don’t Look Down” (Spotify)
Orlando performer Roberts has been on my radar for some time now, and he’s had a steady stream of singles this year, my favorites (so far) being “Tearing Up My Heart” and “Think About It”. Though his latest tune takes on a slightly different sound, it’s still great.

_____

SAM FISCHER – “Getting Older” (Spotify)
Yes, I have gotten about three weeks older since Fischer uploaded his last single, and besides a few more gray hairs on my head, I’m quite alright. Actually, I’m doing a lot better after hearing “Getting”, a smooth R&B song with a lovely old school feel. It’s pretty hot.

_____

For more great new music, these songs are worth a listen…
BRUNO MAJOR – “I Think It Must Be Christmas” (SoundCloud)
LIGHT ORANGE – “Hypnotized” (SoundCloud)

Across the PGTC SoundCloud page and my playlists on Spotify, these stuck out as my favorite independent songs of the week…

_____

KAPTAN – “Moving On” (Spotify)
It’s always a great edition of the Rewind when I get to include a new single by this artist, who I’ve been supporting on the blog since the summer of 2015. (Time really flies!) His awesome release on the South x Sea label is catchy and anthemic indie pop at its finest.

_____

MALIA – “Champagne Clouds” (Spotify)
What happens when one of the biggest Top 40 stations in the U.S. takes a chance on an unknown performer on a new label? Well, a rare thing has happened to Malia Civetz, from Jacob Kasher and Ross Golan’s Friends With Pens label. It’s a pretty solid pop debut.

_____

For more great new music, these songs are worth a listen…
JOHN.K – “Wrong” (SoundCloud)
NICHOLAS ROBERTS – “Still Believe” (SoundCloud)
SVRCINA – “Astronomical” (SoundCloud)
