Chart Notes:

  • The new weather report says that Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande‘s global hit “Rain On Me” will be sticking around at the top of my personal chart for some time, as it continues to pour for a second week. Taylor Swift‘s “Cruel Summer” kindly takes the Biggest Mover title, moving up from 37-30 in its second week in the countdown. Songs from Kacey Musgraves and Ava Max are new to my list on this update: the former’s “Oh, What A World” enters at #38, just ahead of its impact at the Triple A format, while the latter’s “Kings & Queens” jumps in at #39, which is looking for some royal Top 40 adds in early July.

Chart Notes:

  • Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande‘s big hit “Rain On Me” storms the top spot with a 3-1 move in its fifth week on my personal chart, raining on Dua Lipa‘s pop parade after an eight-week stretch at the summit with “Break My Heart”. The pair of pop bops are certainly worthy of both the Song Of The Summer title and a high placing on my year-end survey in December. Four tracks debut on the latest update, with “My Own Soul’s Warning” by The Killers leading the pack at #32. It’s the follow-up to “Caution”, which just spent the past six weeks at #2. From there, “Cruel Summer” from Taylor Swift comes in at #37, the fifth entry to rank from her Lover album, while Cam‘s “Redwood Tree” and Tessa Violet‘s “Bored” land at #39 and #40, respectively. Violet is the only newcomer in the mix, while Cam earns her second top 40 song.

It will likely be replaced soon by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande‘s “Rain On Me”, which moves from 7-3. Currently running in an ad for Tyson Foods, “Family” earns Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors their first entry on my chart at #35. One spot lower, Neon Trees is in with “New Best Friend”. The #36 debut is the second single off the forthcoming album I Can Feel You Forgetting Me and was the Most Added song at the Alternative radio format this past Tuesday.

Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande have the Biggest Mover for the second consecutive week, jumping from 18-7 with “Rain On Me” in the song’s third week in the top 40. Will it reach the top spot by the end of June? Stay tuned. Meanwhile, two debuts land on the chart, both from artists who certainly aren’t strangers to my chart: the Goo Goo Dolls and Mandy Moore. The former’s “Fearless” has no fear entering at #37, while the latter’s “Tryin’ My Best, Los Angeles” does its best with a start at #39.

Chart Notes:

  • Dua Lipa‘s “Break My Heart” remains strong at #1 on my personal chart for the fourth week, as The Killers wait it out at #2 with “Caution”. Katy Perry earns this week’s Highest Debut with “Daisies”, coming in at #32. Her forthcoming sixth studio album is due August 14. Entering at #38 is the only other new song on the chart: “Surrender” from newcomer Natalie Taylor. Originally released in 2015, the track has earned placements on multiple television shows, but was only serviced to radio earlier this spring following a viral moment on TikTok.
