Welcome to Radio Active, a Sunday evening report from POP! Goes The Charts that gets to the chart of the matter: all the highlights from the CHR/Top 40 chart, as published by Mediabase 24/7 and Mediabase Research. There are several good parts among this week’s top titles:
“EASY” BREEZY: For the seventh consecutive week, superstar Adele has the #1 song on the Top 40 radio chart with “Easy On Me”. It also holds at #1 on both the AC and Hot AC radio charts this week.
SZA climbs from 41-34 with “I Hate U”, now her eighth top 40 entry to date. The song is racing towards the top 20 at both the Rhythmic and Urban radio formats. Alesso and Katy Perry jump from 45-37 with “When I’m Gone”, their fifth and 30th top 40 hits, respectively. Finally, a newcomer lands in the #38 spot with a debut: American Idol alum Lauren Spencer-Smith and “Fingers Crossed”.
An old AJR album cut that was relaunched by TikTok last fall is the only new entry in the top 50. 2017’s “The Good Part” lands at #50.
