Welcome to Radio Active, a Sunday evening report from POP! Goes The Charts that gets to the chart of the matter: all the highlights from the CHR/Top 40 chart, as published by Mediabase 24/7 and Mediabase Research. The format is feeling a little more devilish than usual, so we’re going to try our best to balance it out with some angelic chart stats. Here’s what’s popping at the format this week:
“I AM” NUMBER ONE: Billie Eilish scores her second #1 hit on the Top 40 radio chart with “Therefore I Am”, lifting from 2-1. The song displaces Olivia Rodrigo and her ubiquitous smash “Driver’s License”, which has held at the top for the past five weeks.
Rodrigo shouldn’t feel too badly, however, as her new song and second top 40 hit “Déjà Vu” debuts at #39 this week. It will likely be the Most Added song at the format on Tuesday. The exact same title (attached to a different composition) has previously entered the Top 40 survey for other female soloists like Beyoncé and Dionne Warwick. One spot lower, Demi Lovato‘s “Dancing With The Devil” has a wicked start at #40. It’s her 18th top 40 hit to date and the latest from her most recent album, Dancing With The Devil… The Art Of Starting Over.
Social media personality Addison Rae earns her first chart entry to date with “Obsessed”, which enters at #49 after impacting last Tuesday. Lil Nas X is also new at #50 with “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”, which follows a recent viral video and marketing campaign.
