Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: GAYLE force winds remain in the forecast at the format as we head into 2022. Let’s add ’em up:

A-B-C U NEXT YEAR: Securing another 47 adds this week, newcomer GAYLE has the Most Added tune at the format for the second week in a row with “Abcdefu”. It also tied for fourth place on the report at the Alternative format, picking up a total of five stations there.

This was truly the week of the woman at the format, as Doja Cat‘s “Woman” and Emmy Meli‘s “I Am Woman” continued their run up the adds report with their best totals to date. The former track earned 25 new adds and tied for second place, while the latter jumped into fourth place with 23 adds.

Charting singles from Adele, Benson Boone and Latto returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Taylor Swift opens her bottle of bops for a refreshing record at the top. Let’s add ’em up:

A “MESSAGE” TO THE FORMAT: In addition to the 56 adds she earned last week, Taylor Swift managed another 31 stations at the Top 40 format this week for “Message In A Bottle”, the current radio single from the #1 album Red (Taylor’s Version). The tune flew from 46-39 on the chart last weekend. Swift also topped the adds report at Hot AC radio yesterday with 34 new stations there. Her song currently sits in the top 30 at that format, jumping from 41-26 last weekend.

Newcomer and former American Idol alum Benson Boone was just behind Swift with 28 adds on impact for “Ghost Town”. The viral song from TikTok will soon become his first top 40 hit. Boone was tied for second place at Hot AC radio yesterday with a dozen new stations.

Charting singles from ACRAZE, Pitbull and Silk Sonic returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.

RADIO ACTIVE — A Weekly Chart CHRonicle (November 7, 2021)

Welcome to Radio Active, a Sunday evening report from POP! Goes The Charts that gets to the chart of the matter: all the highlights from the CHR/Top 40 chart, as published by Mediabase 24/7 and Mediabase Research. For all the new songs and statistics you need right now, here’s what’s popping at the format this week:

THE TEN (WEEK) SPOT: It’s November and The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber are still holding strong atop the pop radio chart. They extend their stay at the summit, as “Stay” remains at #1 for a tenth week. It’s now about 940 spins ahead of the song in the runner-up spot.

Post Malone and The Weeknd have the top entry on this week’s chart with “One Right Now”, which starts at #27. The song is the 16th top 40 hit for Malone and the 22nd for The Weeknd, who just entered the chart last weekend in a collaboration with Swedish House Mafia. In with his recent viral dance song, Nigeria’s CKay rises from 41-38 on the chart with “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)”, his first entry. Lastly, Troye Sivan makes a move from 42-39 with “Angel Baby”. It’s his seventh top 40 hit since 2016.

New to the top 50, the reunited Sean Paul and Sia come in at #49 with “Dynamite”. Five years ago, Paul was featured on a popular remix of Sia’s “Cheap Thrills”, which spent six weeks at #1 on the pop chart that summer. One spot lower, the act Silk Sonic (featuring Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak) checks in at #50 with “Smokin’ Out The Window”, the new single from An Evening With Silk Sonic.

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: NEIKED, Mae Muller and Polo G spend several more days on top of the report. Let’s add ’em up:

EVEN “BETTER” NOW: For the second consecutive week, “Better Days” takes the Most Added title at the Top 40 radio format, as the big collaboration from NEIKED, Mae Muller and Polo G picks up 54 more adds. It debuted at #28 on last weekend’s published chart and will fly into the top 20 soon. The song is seeing little activity outside of the format, with just a handful of Rhythmic adds coming in since last week.

Most of the activity trailed off from there, but emerging singles from Charli XCX, Chlöe and Oliver Tree also had solid performances.

Charting singles from CKay, Pitbull and The Anxiety returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: a TikTok-fueled single from NEIKED, Mae Muller and Polo G has some big days to come at the format. Let’s add ’em up:

“BETTER” TOGETHER: After a recent viral run on TikTok, the Top 40 format is appreciating some “Better Days” ahead due to NEIKED, Mae Muller and Polo G, whose collaboration took the top spot on the adds report with 87 stations on impact. The track is expected to have a fairly high debut in the top 40 by the weekend, which will be the first charting hit for both NEIKED and Muller here. It also comes five years after NEIKED last impacted at the Top 40 format with the Dyo-assisted “Sexual”, which did not chart.

In second place, the current collaboration from Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd also finished well for its impact date. “Moth To A Flame” fluttered with 54 stations this week. It should also see a good ascent by the weekend, as the group prepares for their second top 40 entry from an upcoming album titled Paradise Again.

Charting singles from CKay, GIVĒON and The Anxiety returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: the easiest winner of the year is, of course, Adele. Let’s add ’em up:

“EASY” DOES IT: As expected, it was a huge week for Adele at the Top 40 format with “Easy On Me”. It’s now the eighth title in the plays-per-week era to clear the entire panel in one week, scoring all 179 adds on impact. In fact, across the United States and Canada, the track got 528 adds in total when combining all formats. The lead single from 30 debuted at #22 on the Top 40 chart last weekend.

In second place, Anitta picked up 36 adds for the Saweetie-assisted “Faking Love”. The collaboration also performed well at the Rhythmic format, landing in the same runner-up position with another 33 stations there. The single marks the follow-up to “Girl From Rio”, which got as high as #22 the pop chart for Anitta this past July.

Rounding out the top three, Imagine Dragons finished in third place with “Follow You”. It impacted and earned 25 new stations, bringing its historic total to 42. The song spent five nonconsecutive weeks at #1 at the Alternative format between April and July.

Charting singles from Coldplay, Jesy Nelson and The Anxiety returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.

RADIO ACTIVE — A Weekly Chart CHRonicle (October 17, 2021)

We have some easy selections for singles and stats, so let’s see what’s popping at the format this week:

KID ‘N PLAYS: Hovering above 19,600 plays once again this week, “Stay” spends a seventh week at #1 on the Top 40 radio chart. The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber now have the longest-running #1 song of 2021 at the pop format and that run will likely extend another week or two.

Superstar Adele soars onto the chart way up at #22 with “Easy On Me”, the lead single from her forthcoming album 30. It’s her tenth top 40 entry to date and simultaneously reaches the top 40 at four additional formats: AC, Hot AC, R&B (formerly Urban AC) and Triple A. Up from 42-31, GIVĒON scores his third top 40 song at the pop format with “For Tonight”. Moving from 41-37, “Hurricane” is the 23rd top 40 hit for Kanye West, the 20th for The Weeknd and the second for Lil Baby. The track can be found on West’s recent #1 album Donda. Finally, at #38, Kacey Musgraves achieves her first top 40 song on the Top 40 airwaves with “Justified”, which moves up from #43 last week.

Nigerian newcomer CKay debuts at #45 with his viral hit “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)”, which is being fueled by a popular dance challenge on TikTok. Former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson comes in at #46 with the Nicki Minaj-assisted “Boyz”, which just earned a top five entry on the national survey in the United Kingdom. Next, TWICE feels their way into the #47 spot with “The Feels”, while “Chosen” is the Top 40 format’s choice at #48 for Blxst, Ty Dolla $ign and Tyga, a current top ten single on the Rhythmic and Urban radio charts.
