RECORD REWIND 2020: PGTC Picks, Week Twenty Three

PICK OF THE WEEK: ONE
GRIFFIN OSKAR – “Answer” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Second appearance

Singer and songwriter Oskar is back with the follow-up to “We Don’t Get High (Like We Used To)”, a track that was featured on the Rewind in April. Co-written with Isaiah Tejada, known for his work with Britney Spears and Maroon 5, Oskar’s got another winner.

PICK OF THE WEEK: TWO
JOHN SPLITHOFF – “Go Somewhere” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Third appearance

This artist has been off the Rewind for a few years during his time with Warner Music’s East West label, where he released an EP in 2018 and some assorted tracks. Now, back with a self-released project, Splithoff delivers another smooth musical trip for your ears.

SHY MARTIN – “Make Us Never Happen” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Third appearance

Singer and songwriter Martin has one of the best new pop releases of the last week, which marks her first track on the weekly recap since June’s “Same Old”. The single, which reflects on the past trajectory of a relationship, has a strong and relatable lyric for many.

PHOEBE RYAN – “Build Me Up” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Second appearance

After landing on the Rewind earlier this year with “A Thousand Ways”, Ryan returns with a cool tune and a very entertaining video. Sure, it might be some time before she’s the next Mr. Wizard or Bill Nye The Science Guy, but Ryan knows how to experiment well.
