This week’s Biggest Mover in the countdown is “Renegade”, a collaboration from Big Red Machine (the duo of Aaron Dessner and Justin Vernon) and Taylor Swift, leaping from 37-27. The three new singles on this week’s list are all impacting at different radio formats through the end of the month: Imagine Dragons head for adds at Alternative and Triple A radio this coming week with “Wrecked”, which lands at #38. Sliding in at #39, “I Quit Drinking” officially hits the Hot AC format next Monday for Kelsea Ballerini and LANY. Finally, at #40, chart newcomers SUPER-Hi x Neeka bask in their sunny outlook at Top 40 radio for the last Tuesday in July with “Following The Sun”, a song that is currently popular in Austria and Germany.

Chart Notes:

  • Coldplay scores their ninth #1 single on my personal chart with “Higher Power”, advancing to the top after three weeks in the runner-up position. The group is back in a tie with Taylor Swift for the most #1 songs ever in my chart’s history. However, Dua Lipa might make that a three-way tie with “Love Again”, as her latest single soars from 25-18 to become the Biggest Mover of the week. Four tracks are new to the countdown, three of which are from artists who have claimed at least two #1 hits to date: Ed Sheeran, who lands way up at #28 with “Bad Habits”, followed by Bastille at #33 with “Distorted Light Beam” and Maroon 5 at #37 with “Lost”. The fourth and final entry comes from the duo Milky Chance, who take advantage of their chance at a debut with “Colorado” at #40.

Chart Notes:

  • My personal chart is still intoxicated by Elle King and Miranda Lambert with “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)”, which remains at #1 for its fifth (and perhaps final) week. A steady stream of bulleted titles are just behind it, including Alternative chart crossovers from Coldplay at #2 and Imagine Dragons at #3. After some higher debuts on last week’s survey, Lorde and Tones And I are tied for this week’s Biggest Mover, as “Solar Power” (36-27) and “Cloudy Day” (35-26) advance nine notches on the list. The two debuts in the countdown are also by women: newcomer Holly Humberstone is new at #39 with “The Walls Are Way Too Thin”, while Olivia Rodrigo starts at #40 with “Brutal”, the fourth single to rank from her recent chart-topping album Sour.

Chart Notes:

  • “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” holds down the top spot on my personal chart for a fourth week, as Elle King and Miranda Lambert continue their reign for another update. Look for their song to perform well at the Country radio format soon, where it officially heads for adds on Monday. John Mayer had last week’s top debut with “Last Train Home”, which now rolls up the track from 39-30 this week, making it the Biggest Mover on the chart. Four new tunes are on the list this week: Tones And I leads the way with “Cloudy Day”, which lands at #35. Right behind her, Lorde returns with “Solar Power”, which brightens the #36 spot. For hits and health-related needs, Dayglow has the perfect pop prescription with his “Medicine”, debuting at #37. Lastly, Wrabel is back on the chart with “Nothing But The Love”, which is loved with an entry at #39.

Chart Notes:

  • “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” holds atop my personal chart for a third week, as Elle King and Miranda Lambert face some new competition from Coldplay, who advance from 5-2 with “Higher Power”. We’ll see what happens with both titles in the coming weeks. After debuting on last week’s chart at #39, Ben Rector leaps to #30 with the Steve Winwood-assisted “Range Rover”, which makes it the Biggest Mover of the week. Two new entries rank towards the bottom of this week’s countdown, led by John Mayer at #39 with “Last Train Home”. It’s the fourth top 40 entry from his upcoming album Sob Rock: the first was 2018’s “New Light”, which peaked at #2 that summer. Meanwhile, Dua Lipa extends her Future Nostalgia era with “Love Again”, debuting at #40. A total of five songs from the album have gone to #1 on my chart since last year and a sixth song from a reissue of the set recently peaked at #2.

Chart Notes:

  • The new duo of Silk Sonic (a collaborative project from Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak) opens the door and peeks inside to find their very first #1 hit on my personal chart in “Leave The Door Open”, which rises from 2-1. Last month, the tune also topped the Billboard Hot 100 survey. A full studio album from the two performers is expected to be released later this year. Two recent entries from Ben Platt and Mimi Webb are tied for the Biggest Mover, up seven spots. A couple of new tunes also check into the countdown from Billie Eilish and Alec Benjamin: “Your Power” and “The Way You Felt” are off to a nice start at #35 and #37, respectively.

Chart Notes:

  • Passenger spends a second week at #1 on my personal chart with “Sword From The Stone”, as songs by Silk Sonic (#2) and Dua Lipa (#3) keep knocking at the door to the top. We’ll see if it opens up by next weekend. In a slow week for notable movers, Mimi Webb takes the Biggest Mover title, climbing from 37-31 with “Good Without”. Regard, Troye Sivan and Tate McRae earn this week’s Highest Debut with “You”, which comes in at #38. The collaboration is finding good support at both Dance and Top 40 radio, making it an early contender for the Song Of The Summer. Ben Platt also debuts at #39 with “Imagine”, a single which impacts at Hot AC radio on Monday. This is his second top 40 entry on my chart to date.
