Sunday afternoon means it’s time for the Record Rewind, highlighting the top new tracks that you might’ve missed during the work week, all from my favorite small label and independent acts out there. If it’s on the site, it’s something that you need to check out!
Across the PGTC SoundCloud page and my playlists on Spotify, these stuck out as my favorite independent songs of the week…
_____
PICK OF THE WEEK: ONE
MOKITA – “Bad” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Sixth appearance
Nashville’s John-Luke Carter continues his run of great independent releases with another pop banger. This particular single gets a little help from another frequent face on the Rewind, Los Angeles-based CAPPA, and songwriter Thomas Jones. It’s a summer jam.
PICK OF THE WEEK: TWO
OLI FOX – “Player 2” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: First appearance
During his short time with Island Records, the performer’s music was featured several times on our Friday Faves playlist, including cuts like “The Worrying” in November 2018 and “Young” in March 2019. His latest track, a rhythmic pop bop, wins the final round!

For more great new music, these songs are worth a listen…
BEN KESSLER – “No Plans”
CODY FRY – “Thinking About You”
LOLO – “Dead Inside”
