Welcome to Radio Active, a Sunday evening report from POP! Goes The Charts that gets to the chart of the matter: all the highlights from the CHR/Top 40 chart, as published by Mediabase 24/7 and Mediabase Research. This week’s survey is full of rap stars and pop stars aplenty, so here’s what’s moving at the format this week:
STILL SAVING THE CHART: “Save Your Tears” spends a third week at #1 on the Top 40 radio chart, as The Weeknd‘s big hit lifts from 2-1 on the Hot AC chart. This will likely be its last week at the summit here on the pop list, as Justin Bieber is salivating for a sweet jump to the top with this week’s #2 song, the Daniel Caesar and GIVĒON-assisted “Peaches”.
Hong Kong’s Jackson Wang is up from 41-39 on the Top 40 radio chart with “LMLY (Leave Me Loving You)”, giving Wang his third top 40 song at the format. Meanwhile, Los Angeles-based songwriter Annika Wells earns her first top 40 hit as an artist with “Sucks Being Sober”, leaping from 45-40.
In the top 50, Polo G debuts at #45 with “Rapstar”, which recently starred at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Starting at #48, “I Did It” marks a giant collaboration for DJ Khaled with Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby and DaBaby. You can find it on the recent album Khaled Khaled, which just landed at the top of the Billboard 200 list.
