Past T40 History: Her third top 40 song of the year and 27th overall had a nice debut in the top 30 on last Sunday’s published list.

MARK RONSON featuring CAMILA CABELLO – “Find U Again” (RCA)
Album: Late Night Feelings (2019)
Past T40 History: This is Ronson and Cabello’s first collaboration to date. Together, they have five #1 singles overall at the format.

THE CHAINSMOKERS featuring BEBE REXHA – “Call You Mine” (Columbia)
Album: World War Joy (2019)
Past T40 History: The EDM duo has placed two songs in the top ten so far this year. Will this tune with Rexha become their third?

Next week: Russ fights a “Civil War” with the panel, but there are more fighters to come…

RADIO REPORT: What’s Popping At Top 40 Radio This Week (May 27-28, 2019)

It’s time once again to analyze the airwaves and find out if your favorite new releases will be lighting up your local station’s playlist this week. Which tunes will climb to the top and which ones will hit a stop? Four singles impacting this week at the Top 40 format:

Past T40 History: The group’s ninth top 40 hit jumped into the top 30 last Sunday and could very likely take the Most Added title.

ALLY BROOKE featuring A BOOGIE WIT DA HOODIE – “Lips Don’t Lie” (Latium/Atlantic)

Past T40 History: Brooke is looking for her second solo top 40 entry outside of Fifth Harmony. “Low Key” recently peaked at #21.

BECKY G & DIGITAL FARM ANIMALS featuring RVSSIAN – “Next To You” (Arista/RED)
Album: TBA (2019)
Past T40 History: Of the three acts here, Becky G has logged the most time on the list with five prior top 40 releases at the format.

ED SHEERAN featuring CHANCE THE RAPPER and PNB ROCK – “Cross Me” (Atlantic)
Album: No. 6 Collaborations Project (2019)
Past T40 History: Sheeran’s collaboration with Justin Bieber from the same album, “I Don’t Care”, entered the top ten on Sunday.

Next week: the ladies lead the way with new singles headed to the format from DayaMiley Cyrus and perhaps others.

Past T40 History: With a chart entry just below the top 20 on Sunday, expect this collaboration to potentially have a perfect week!

KYGO & RITA ORA – “Carry On” (Ultra/RCA)

Past T40 History: Kygo has five top 40 singles to date; Ora has six. Will the movie’s second place opening help this one chart well?

Past T40 History: This K-pop group is hoping to get their first top 40 hit. The track reached the top ten in Japan and South Korea.

SHAWN MENDES – “If I Can’t Have You” (Island/Republic)

Past T40 History: With his eighth top 40 entry to date, Mendes hopes to earn his third #1 single at the format and first since 2017.

Next week: Christian Paul is among the new faces looking to have a strong week here on Tuesday, but he’ll be facing some larger competition in the form of two collaborations: Kygo & Rita Ora‘s soundtrack single from the movie Pokémon: Detective Pikachu and a rumored release by Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran that’s being teased on social media.

It’s time once again to analyze the airwaves and find out if your favorite new releases will be lighting up your local station’s playlist this week. Which tunes will climb to the top and which ones will hit a stop? Here’s a set of six impacting songs this week at the Top 40 format:

BAZZI – “Paradise” (Artist Partner/Atlantic)

Past T40 History: Last July, Bazzi led his first chart single “Mine” to the top for a week. Will this song earn him his second #1 hit?

DADDY YANKEE & KATY PERRY featuring SNOW – “Con Calma” (UMLE/Capitol)

Past T40 History: Heavily sampling Snow’s “Informer”, this cut marks the rapper’s first appearance on the survey since July 1993.

DAN + SHAY – “Speechless” (Warner Bros.)
Album: Dan + Shay (2018)
Past T40 History: With another former #1 track at the Country radio format, we’ll see if this duo can make it 2-for-2 on this chart.

MAX featuring QUINN XCII – “Love Me Less” (Arista/RED)

Past T40 History: MAX’s “Lights Down Low” spent over a year in the top 40 before it eventually made the top ten, climbing to #7.

OBB – “7 Billion” (Curb-Word)
Album: TBA (2019)
Past T40 History: These three guys are new to the format. The last Curb release to reach the top 50 here was almost ten years ago.

SZA, THE WEEKND & TRAVIS SCOTT – “Power Is Power” (Columbia)
Album: For The Throne: Music Inspired By Game Of Thrones (Soundtrack) (2019)
Past T40 History: With more than a dozen top 40 titles between them, the soundtrack single should have a powerful impact week.

Next week: two words. Taylor Swift. That is all. (We’ll see if anyone else dares to impact on the date soon.)
