ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (August 24, 2021)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Shawn Mendes and Tainy score some add totals that are not so t(a)iny. Let’s add ’em up:

LATE “SUMMER” SIZZLERS: With a song for the season, Shawn Mendes and Tainy earn 143 stations on impact for “Summer Of Love”, as it takes first place on the adds report at the Top 40 format. On yesterday’s report at Hot AC radio, the track also reached the top spot with 57 adds there.

More collaborations can also be found in the top three this week: finishing in second place with 32 stations, Alesso and Marshmello team with James Bay for “Chasing Stars”. It was also in the runner-up position at Hot AC radio, receiving a slightly lower 25 adds there. Sensing a trend here? Yes, the track in third place at both formats was “Cold Heart”, a new duet from Elton John and Dua Lipa, totaling 31 and 19 new stations, respectively.

Charting singles from Billie Eilish, Måneskin and Olivia Rodrigo returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.
