RADIO REPORT: What’s Popping At Top 40 Radio This Week (August 9-10, 2021)

It’s time once again to analyze the airwaves and find out if your favorite new releases will be lighting up your local station’s playlist this week. Which tunes will climb to the top and which ones will hit a stop? Here are four new titles impacting this week at the Top 40 format:

BLACK EYED PEAS featuring SAWEETIE & LELE PONS, “Hit It” (Epic)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: The band earned three top 40 hits from their last album Translation. Will this collaboration also translate here?

MASKED WOLF, “Say So” (Elektra/EMG)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: “Say” is the follow-up to the international hit “Astronaut In The Ocean”, which reached #8 at the Top 40 format.

OLIVIA HOLT, “Next” (Hollywood)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: In 2017, Holt peaked at #50 with “History”. Though she’s impacted with further songs, she hasn’t charted again.

THE WEEKND, “Take My Breath” (XO/Republic)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: “Take” scored a giant debut at #29 on the chart over the weekend, marking the singer’s 19th top 40 song to date.

Next week: the rumors of a new Lizzo single are true… will the Top 40 format be ready?

How will these songs perform on the adds report? Let me know!
