RADIO REPORT: What’s Popping At Top 40 Radio This Week (July 19-20, 2021)

It’s time once again to analyze the airwaves and find out if your favorite new releases will be lighting up your local station’s playlist this week. Which tunes will climb to the top and which ones will hit a stop? Here are five new songs impacting this week at the Top 40 format:

ALESSIA CARA, “Sweet Dream” (Def Jam)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: Cara has struggled at the Top 40 format over the last few years, with four consecutive top ten misses since 2018.

BILLIE EILISH, “NDA” (Darkroom/Interscope)
Album: Happier Than Ever (2021)
Past T40 History: “NDA” ranks at #35 on the chart as of Sunday, marking her eighth top 40 hit and fourth from her upcoming set.

NORMANI featuring CARDI B, “Wild Side” (Keep Cool/RCA)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: Outside of Fifth Harmony, Normani has hit #1 twice at the format in collaborations with Khalid and Sam Smith.

POP SMOKE featuring DUA LIPA, “Demeanor” (Victor Victor/Republic)
Album: Faith (2021)
Past T40 History: Pop Smoke could earn his second posthumous top 40 entry: “What You Know Bout Love” peaked at #8 in April.

TWENTY ONE PILOTS, “Saturday” (Fueled By Ramen/EMG)
Album: Scaled And Icy (2021)
Past T40 History: This duo is looking for their eighth top 40 single on the pop chart. They last appeared in the top ten in late 2016.
