Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Ariana Grande is positioned at the top once again. Let’s add ’em up:
ENJOY THE VIEW: Top 40 radio has a point of view on Ariana Grande’s “POV”, which leads the adds report with 81 stations on impact. This will soon be the third top 40 hit from the album Positions: both the title track and “34+35” reached #1 at the format.
Five adds behind Grande, Justin Bieber opened in second place with the Daniel Caesar and Givēon-assisted hit “Peaches”. At 76 stations this week, it comes in well ahead of another recent Bieber release, “Hold On”, scoring 24 adds and a fourth place finish. Meanwhile, featured artist Givēon is also breaking out with his own tune “Heartbreak Anniversary”, which takes fifth place with 18 new commitments from the panel.
Format newcomer Duncan Laurence also had a great day with “Arcade”, a hit which won the Eurovision Song Contest two years ago. Thanks in part to recent activity on TikTok, it’s having a successful second life: it secured up 50 adds on impact, good for third place.
Charting singles from Bebe Rexha, Cardi B and Masked Wolf returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.
We’ll see you next week for another action-packed adds session.
