ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (March 16, 2021)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: duo Silk Sonic narrowly gets the win and opens the door to the top. Let’s add ’em up:

“DOOR” GOES FOR MORE: “Leave The Door Open” checks into the hit hotel for another week, as Silk Sonic (featuring Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak) leads the Top 40 adds report with 35 new stations in its second week. That puts the track just ahead of two singles tied for second place, coming in with 31 adds: “Astronaut In The Ocean” by Masked Wolf and “Beautiful Mistakes” by Maroon 5 featuring Megan Thee Stallion. All three songs are well into the top 30 at the format.

Breaking out in the top ten, Tones And I came in fifth place with 21 stations on impact for “Fly Away”, while Justin Bieber held onto ninth place with “Hold On”, securing 17 more adds this week.

Charting singles from AJR, Daya and JESSIA returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.

Next week, Duncan Laurence hits the adds arcade at the Top 40 format, as his song crosses from the AC and Hot AC charts.
