RADIO REPORT: What’s Popping At Top 40 Radio This Week (January 4-5, 2021)

It’s time once again to analyze the airwaves and find out if your favorite new releases will be lighting up your local station’s playlist this week. Which tunes will climb to the top and which ones will hit a stop? Here are five singles impacting this week at the Top 40 format:

ED SHEERAN – “Afterglow” (Atlantic)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: This surprise release is now in the top 30 at the format as of last week’s survey. It’s Sheeran’s 21st top 40 single.

FOUSHEÉ – “Deep End” (RCA)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: The first impacting release here for Fousheé has been scoring airplay at the Alternative format since November.

IANN DIOR – “Holding On” (10K Projects/Capitol)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: Before the freeze, this song briefly made the top 50. Dior was featured on 24KGoldn’s “Mood”, a recent #1 tune.

JUSTIN BIEBER – “Anyone” (Def Jam)
Album: TBA (2021)
Past T40 History: With two days of airplay, this song debuted at #39 on Sunday’s published chart. It’s Bieber’s 33rd top 40 single.

TAYLOR SWIFT – “Willow” (Republic)
Album: Evermore (2020)
Past T40 History: After an album release in mid-December, Swift’s 33rd top 40 hit on the pop radio chart is moving in the top 30.
