Adam’s Top 100 of 2020: The Complete List

2020 was quite a year, one that will be remembered for some time to come: the pandemic, politics, protests and much more. While our lives will be much different headed into the new year, we can only hope that 2021 will bring some sort of normalcy and positive change.

Perhaps one of the few upsides of 2020 was the amount of great music that came out: despite the challenges of the last ten months, the music community remained creative and I’d like to think that some of that is reflected in my 2020 year-end chart. “Love” was in the air once again, with the top 100 containing 15 titles that used the word or the word family, including “I Love Me”, “Love Me Land”, “Stupid Love”, “Used To Love” and others. From “Me” to “You”, my chart saw some action from “Fall On Me” and “Rain On Me” to “Adore You” and “Someone To You” and even “Me & You Together Song”. Hits from Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga dominated the year, but there’s lots more to discover from the rankings of my list, including winners from radio, sync and yes, a few TikTok tunes as well.

So, after crunching all the numbers up, here are the top 100 songs based on my weekly personal chart:

The 2020 chart year encompasses a period of 53 weekly surveys from the chart dated December 1, 2019 to the chart dated November 29, 2020. Peaks listed for each track reflect the highest position reached by the final list of this period. For any ties in points, an entry with the highest peak is listed first, and further ties are broken by the weeks at a song’s peak position and the amount of time charted in the top 40. 166 titles had at least one point qualify towards the year-end chart, a small decrease from the 167 that did so in 2019. A total of 13 titles reached the #1 spot for at least one week this year, down significantly from the 20 that did so in 2019.
