ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (November 17, 2020)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Billie Eilish leads the bill with a huge week for her latest release, but the new holiday hit from Lil Nas X is a cold hard winner too. Let’s add ’em up:

“I AM” NUMBER ONE: Billie Eilish connected with the Top 40 panel in a big way this week, earning 169 stations for “Therefore I Am”. The song debuted at #34 on last weekend’s published update, giving the young performer her sixth top 40 song to date. The adds continued at the Alternative and Hot AC formats, where it brought in another 42 and 16 stations, respectively.

Lil Nas X also debuted on the Top 40 report with “Holiday”, landing a second place finish with an impressive 92 adds on impact. It took first place at both Rhythmic and Urban radio this week, earning 44 and 34 adds, respectively.

Charting singles from Ariana Grande and Tate McRae returned to the top ten on the adds report this week.

Next week: Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber hope to have a monster adds week here (and they’ll likely achieve it.)
