RADIO ACTIVE — A Weekly Chart CHRonicle (July 26, 2020)

Welcome to Radio Active, a Sunday evening report from POP! Goes The Charts that gets to the chart of the matter: all the highlights from the CHR/Top 40 chart, as published by Mediabase 24/7 and Mediabase Research. The end of July is here and the summer hits are taking over the chart and the heart… here’s what’s popping at the format this week:

HAVE A “HEART”: Dua Lipa earns her third #1 song at the Top 40 format with “Break My Heart”, which leaps from 3-1. Earlier this year, “Don’t Start Now” spent six weeks at the top, making her the only act to have more than one chart-topper in 2020. The hit also ranks at #9 on this week’s Hot AC chart update.

Earning their 28th top 40 single at the format, Maroon 5 vaults into the top 40 at #36 with “Nobody’s Love”. It’s their follow-up to “Memories”, which spent two weeks at #1 in February. The Juice WRLD and Marshmello collaboration “Come & Go” also enters at #40: it’s the third top 40 hit (and first posthumous entry) for the former artist, as the latter collects his ninth.

The only new title in the top 50 comes from DJ Khaled and Drake, who start at #50 with “Popstar”. This is the third collaboration between the two artists to reach the region here. The track is already in the top 20 on the Rhythmic radio chart and should approach the region on the Urban chart in the next week or two.
