RADIO REPORT: What’s Popping At Top 40 Radio This Week (April 6-7, 2020)

It’s time once again to analyze the airwaves and find out if your favorite new releases will be lighting up your local station’s playlist this week. Which tunes will climb to the top and which ones will hit a stop? Here are three tunes impacting this week at the Top 40 format:

DRAKE, “Toosie Slide” (OVO/Republic)
Album: TBA (2020)
Past T40 History: Drake’s new release slid into the top 40 with ease last Sunday, becoming his 29th entry to reach the region here.

MEGAN THEE STALLION, “Savage” (1501 Certified Ent./300 Ent.)
Album: Suga (2020)
Past T40 History: Stallion’s had success at the Rhythmic and Urban radio formats, but her highest-charting title here went to #38.

POWFU featuring BEABADOOBEE, “Coffee For Your Head (Death Bed)” (Robots & Humans/Columbia)
Album: TBA (2020)
Past T40 History: As this song flies towards the top 20 at the Alternative radio format, “Coffee” is ready to brew on the Top 40 list.

With a larger amount of shifting adds dates given the current pandemic, we’ll see what new titles head to the format on Monday.
