ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (March 31, 2020)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Dua Lipa delivers one more delicious disco delight to the format and the panel is dancing along. Who else is into the groove? Let’s add ’em up:

“BREAK” IT TO MAKE IT: Breaking at 143 stations this week, a giant start given radio’s ongoing adjustments to the pandemic, Dua Lipa’s “Break My Heart” is easily the Most Added song at the Top 40 format. This buzzing track is the follow-up to the current #1 song here, “Don’t Start Now”, which has been at the summit for six consecutive weeks. “Break” started at #40 on last weekend’s official chart, becoming Lipa’s tenth top entry to date, and is likely to make a larger move by this coming weekend’s update.

The reactive new collaboration from PartyNextDoor and Rihanna also does well on impact… and you better believe it. Landing in third place with 35 stations this week, “Believe It” is also poised to become a big record later this spring. Unsurprisingly, it leads the adds report at both the Rhythmic and Urban radio formats this week.

Charting songs from Regard, Surfaces and The Weeknd are among those returning to the top ten on this week’s report.

We’ll see you next Tuesday for another adds recap, featuring new releases from JoJo and Pink Sweat$. Stay safe out there.
