ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (March 10, 2020)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Demi Lovato empowers the panel with her latest hit, while several other titles are truckin’ into the top ten. Let’s add ’em up:

“ME” TIME: The return of Demi Lovato has given us an emotional ballad in “Anyone” and the bold pop anthem “I Love Me”, this week’s top song on the adds report at Top 40 radio. It starts with 152 stations on impact, which compliments its haul of 27 stations at the Hot AC format yesterday, where it also ranked in first place. After debuting at #30 on the most recent published update, this tune is looking bound for the top ten, which would give the performer her highest-charting entry in more than two years here.

New releases by 5 Seconds Of Summer and Bryce Vine also managed to pull in some great adds this week. Both “Old Me” and “Baby Girl” tied for a second place finish with 33 stations during the session. The two singles should easily land in the top 50 in the next couple of weeks. Breland‘s recent viral song “My Truck” also drives into the top ten for the first time, placing seventh with 13 more stations coming in this week. This past Sunday, the tune officially parked in the top 50 at the Rhythmic radio format.

Charting songs from Doja Cat, Lady Gaga and Surfaces are among those returning to the top ten on this week’s report.

The TikTok crowd has already gone wild for emerging songs from Benee and Sam Fischer, so we’ll see how they do next week at the format. Will anyone else join the impact party? Stay tuned.
