ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (September 10, 2019)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Camila Cabello provides some double trouble with two cuts dominating on the report. If you don’t believe us, we’re no liars. Let’s add ’em up:

CABEL-LO AND BEHOLD: Cabello’s recent dual single release of “Liar” and “Shameless” is proving to be pretty strong in sales, streaming and on the radio, as the cuts pack a 1-2 punch on this week’s Top 40 adds report. Both tunes pick up over 120 adds each, with “Liar” pacing ahead with 138 and “Shameless” ending with 124. In short: they’re giant and about to do even more damage! On the Hot AC adds report yesterday, the singles finished in the same order, with “Liar” earning 18 adds and “Shameless” receiving 11.

Why Don’t We also managed to secure a decent 26 stations and a fifth place finish this week, as they officially impact with “What Am I” after several weeks of early action. Like Cabello’s two entries above, “What” entered the top 40 at the format last weekend. It looks poised to become the group’s highest-charting single at the format later this year; they’ve now had four top 40 songs to date.

Charting releases by Lizzo, Post Malone and Taylor Swift are among those prominent songs making up the rest of the top ten.

A huge Tuesday is ahead at the format, led by a soundtrack song from Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey, as well as the latest singles by 5 Seconds Of Summer (which ranked at #6 this week) and Halsey.
