RADIO REPORT: What’s Popping At Top 40 Radio This Week (July 8-9, 2019)

It’s time once again to analyze the airwaves and find out if your favorite new releases will be lighting up your local station’s playlist this week. Which tunes will climb to the top and which ones will hit a stop? Here are four tracks impacting this week at the Top 40 format:

ELLIE GOULDING & JUICE WRLD – “Hate Me” (Interscope)

Past T40 History: Goulding’s “Close To Me” spent a week at #2 in April, her highest-charting hit in four years. Will this rise to #1?

KASKADE & MEGHAN TRAINOR – “With You” (Epic)
Album: TBA (2019)
Past T40 History: Kaskade’s single “Atmosphere” spent a week at #50 in September 2013, marking his only chart song here so far.

LIL NAS X – “Panini” (Columbia)
Album: 7 (EP) (2019)
Past T40 History: With “Old Town Road” headed down after spending three weeks at #4, his follow-up release is being served hot.

POST MALONE featuring YOUNG THUG – “Goodbyes” (Republic)
Album: TBA (2019)
Past T40 History: After two days of airplay, the collaboration debuted at #35 last Sunday. Malone’s scored ten top 40 hits thus far.

Next week: Blanco Brown gits his chance at the format with a new dance sensation, while the act Monsta X is looking for some monsta numbers for their first song to impact here. We’ll see if anyone else joins the pop party soon.
