ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (June 25, 2019)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: lightning could strike twice for Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello at the format, as they lead a busy top ten ahead of a slower holiday week. Alright, señoritas and señores, let’s add ’em up:

GOING GOING SHAWN: Even though it’s not a hot Justin Timberlake cover, a totally different “Señorita” from Mendes and Cabello is easily this week’s Most Added release at Top 40 radio, picking up 124 stations on impact. However, Mendes’s past single “If I Can’t Have You” cleared the entire panel of 183 stations in its first week a month ago. While that track continues to gain in the top ten, Cabello is also in the top 40 with the Mark Ronson collaboration titled “Find U Again”. Look for “Señorita” to grab some top 30 action by the weekend at both this and the Hot AC radio charts, where it earned a first-week total of 25 stations yesterday.

Zara Larsson also had a solid day for her current single “All The Time”, which made a very timely entrance in third place with 33 stations during the session. A posthumous single by Avicii, featuring a lead vocal by successful collaborator Aloe Blacc, ranked a notch lower with 25 adds during the session. Both “SOS” and the aforementioned “All” should enter the top 50 very soon.

Proven winners from Lewis Capaldi, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, as well as additional new songs from Ava Max and Cyn, are among the rest of entries filling out the top ten this week.

Next week, watch out for some early action on Ellie Goulding and Juice WRLD‘s new collaboration, as well as some other titles that are impacting next month.
