Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Taylor Swift gets “Down” with the Top 40 crowd once more, blasting up to the top spot on the Tuesday report. Take a deep breath in and out and let’s add ’em up:
“YOU”-NITED AS ONE: After the Brendon Urie-assisted “ME!” cleared the entire panel in one week back in late April, it’s no surprise to see Taylor Swift picking up another giant total for the follow-up single, “You Need To Calm Down”. This tune earns 129 stations in its first week, which falls below the 183 for “ME!”, but is still quite significant. Both songs can be found on Lover, which hits stores on August 23. “You” squeaked into the top 40 on last Sunday’s update and should be well into the top 30 by the next list to be published. It also led the adds report at Hot AC radio yesterday, scoring 42 stations in total.
Swift’s current single lands well ahead of the other impacting records in the region, including songs by LIVVIA, Tove Lo and We Three, though all three acts managed to successfully place their songs in the top ten. (More results are below.)
Next week, Ava Max (who already appears in this week’s top ten) leads a pack of at least five impacting songs, which also includes the latest releases from Cyn, MKTO and more. Curious about who will land on top? So am I! Check back next Tuesday!
