RECORD REWIND 2019: PGTC Picks, Week Thirteen

Sunday afternoon means it’s time for the Record Rewind, highlighting the top new tracks that you might’ve missed during the work week, all from my favorite small label and independent acts out there. If it’s on the site, it’s something that you need to check out!

Across the PGTC SoundCloud page and my playlists on Spotify, these stuck out as my favorite independent songs of the week…

CAPPA – “I Do” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Seventh appearance

It’s been about four months since this artist last appeared on the Rewind with her song “Sux”, and her latest track definitely doesn’t suck whatsoever. Written with Aaron Blackmar, the lighter pop tune has a pleasant melody, while still preserving a playful attitude.

JESSE SAINT JOHN – “Crying” (Spotify)
Previously on the Rewind: Fifth appearance

Released as a part of a two-track single with an updated version of his former Rewind pick “What Do U Like”, you might need some tissues (sold seperately) when you check this cut out for the first time. The retro-tinged electronic sound finds just the right groove.

SVRCINA – “All I Wanna Do” (iTunes)
Previously on the Rewind: Ninth appearance

From “I Do” to “All I Wanna Do”, the latest Rewind entry for this Nashville performer may not be a hot Sheryl Crow cover, but it’s a pretty catchy single in its own right. Co-written with Ben Eggebrecht and Michael McEachern, it’s another super add to her catalog.

For more great new music, these songs are worth a listen…
CUBBI – “Buzzkill”
DANIELLA MASON – “Deepest Of Wells”
EBEN – “Nights Like This”
GABRIELLE APLIN – “Nothing Really Matters”
JOEL ADAMS – “Coffee”
LAUREN AQUILINA – “Tobacco In My Sheets”
RENCE – “Ways To Go”
THE DRIVER ERA – “Feel You Now”
THE WLDLFE – “The Other Side”
