ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (March 12, 2019)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Marshmello gets toasty with his latest single featuring CHVRCHES, as several other competitors race into the top five. What s’more can I say? Let’s add ’em up:

NOW “HERE” THIS: He’s soft and gooey and has plenty of big singles too. Marshmello is back with “Here With Me”, his current collaboration with the trio CHVRCHES, which you’ll find here at the summit on this Tuesday’s report with 83 adds on impact. That total should easily give the featured act their highest-charting single at the format, having just entered the top 50 for a few weeks in January with the Alternative crossover hit “Miracle”. (Other charting entries by the act at that format have been serviced to the pop airwaves, such as “Bury It” and “The Mother We Share”, but have missed entering the survey.) Of course, Marshmello is coming off a multi-format #1 song with the Bastille-assisted “Happier”, which is just about to fall out of the top ten here.

Lauv and Troye Sivan are also looking very good with their first collaboration together, “I’m So Tired…”, which started in second place with 50 stations. Lauv has two top 40 songs to date, while Sivan has four: both performers were in the top 40 earlier this year with their own individual collaborations that peaked at #30 and #33, respectively. This one should (hopefully) do a little better.

Next week, look out for impacting titles from Bryce Vine, CNCO and Twenty One Pilots, all of which have solid early support.
