ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (March 5, 2019)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Brothers, can you spare a hit? The return of the Jonas Brothers has the pop world shook, as plenty of other new records reach the lower rungs of the top ten. Let’s add ’em up:

BROTHERS IN CHARMS: Welcome back, Jonas Brothers! The group’s first single since 2013, “Sucker”, received a massive 153 adds on impact, easily securing the top spot on this week’s adds report at the format. This is trio’s biggest one-week total to date. It should be a quick ride up the chart for the guys, whose release stormed into the top 30 after just two days of airplay. Their highest-charting tune to date on the Top 40 chart, “Burnin’ Up”, spent two weeks at #12 in August 2008. Will their seventh top 40 entry be the one that finally enters the top ten? Stay tuned, suckers!

With his follow-up to “Girls”, which peaked at #38 a few months back, AJ Mitchell lands in fifth place this week with a total of 23 stations for “All My Friends”. Following just behind him with one fewer station, Galantis and OneRepublic are in sixth place, as “Bones” shows some strength with the panel. Look for both songs to reach the top 50 in the next week or two.

Next week, look for the Benny Blanco collaboration “I Can’t Get Enough”, which features Tainy, Selena Gomez and J Balvin, to rule the report. (It just missed the top ten this week.) Also on the schedule: cool new songs from Andy Grammer, James Bay featuring Julia Michaels and Lauv with Troye Sivan.
