ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (February 26, 2019)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Billie Eilish starts a brand new “Party” on the Top 40 airwaves, with the results of a split week at the format playing out all over the top ten. Let’s add ’em up:

BILLIE, DO BE A HERO: With four particularly strong releases impacting at the format this Tuesday, the panel was all over the place by the end of the day. Taking over the top spot, Eilish’s “When The Party’s Over” led the pop party with 42 stations during its biggest session to date. The performer’s “Bury A Friend” also leads the adds report at the Alternative format for the third week in a row, where the song is now approaching the top 20. Just behind her in second place, the cut “What A Time” pairs Julia Michaels with Niall Horan, both enjoying their time on the list with 37 stations today. The single can be found on Michaels’s new EP Inner Monologue, Pt. 1, which also features a collaboration with Selena Gomez. Michaels also sings on the latest single by James Bay titled “Peer Pressure”, which led the adds report at Triple A radio (and finished in the top five at the Hot AC format) yesterday.

Additional top ten action on future hits from H.E.R. and Panic! At The Disco, earning 30 and 26 adds, respectively, could push both songs into the top 40 in the coming weeks.

With over 20 stations coming in early, P!nk‘s “Walk Me Home” should lead next week’s report with a solid total, though singles by Galantis (“Bones”) and NOTD (“So Close”) will also be in the mix and looking to take home the pop prize.
