ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (February 5, 2019)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: the Top 40 radio panel is sipping on newcomer FLETCHER‘s single, one of the many standouts in a very busy week at the format. Let’s get undrunk and add ’em up:

FLETCH ME IF YOU CAN: With over half a dozen new titles impacting at the format this week, there were plenty of choices for pop programmers during the current session. One that made a particularly big statement was “Undrunk” by FLETCHER, who may be new to the format, but is certainly known for a number of songs in the streaming world. The song scores with 67 stations to lead the report, up from #7 on last Tuesday’s log. “Undrunk” should soar into the top 40 during the coming days and become official on the published report this coming Sunday.

Singer Ally Brooke, currently on the Top 40 airwaves with a solo single outside of Fifth Harmony, has a fairly decent start with the Tyga-assisted “Low Key”, which keys in the code for 32 stations on impact. The total should be more than enough action to get the song into the top 50 by the weekend. “Low” ties for third place on this week’s list with “I’ve Been Waiting”, a release credited to three performers: Lil Peep and iLoveMakonnen with a featured appearance by Fall Out Boy. The latter two acts have reached the top 40 at the format before, and it could be the first (and first posthumous entry) for Lil Peep.

Next week could be a great week for MKTO‘s song “How Can I Forget”, but how will the competition fare, including a forthcoming collaboration from The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds Of Summer? Stay tuned.
