ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (October 23, 2018)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Flower power sprouts at the top of the list! What else is growing at Top 40 radio this week? Let’s head to the garden and add ’em up:

POST AT THE POST: In another predictable result, “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee grows at #1 on the latest adds report at the Top 40 format, scoring 112 stations during its impact week. This collaboration comes to us from the soundtrack to the upcoming film Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, which swings into theaters on December 14. Look for the track, which remains in the top five on iTunes, to climb quickly ahead of the movie: it was just outside the top 40 last Sunday and will make it inside this weekend for the next published chart.

Meanwhile, the international hit “Taki Taki” has its best week yet at the pop format, as the DJ Snake single with Selena Gomez, Ozuna and Cardi B slithers into the top ten with a total of 19 stations, ending in ninth place. The track, performed in English and Spanish, remains at #1 on Spotify’s Global list and atop the charts in over a dozen Apple Music and YouTube affiliates. It will likely appear in the top 50 by the next published chart, as it landed just below the region this past Sunday.

Next week, look out for new releases from Ava Max, LIVVIA, Lukas Graham, Zara Larsson and more on the Tuesday report.
