Chart Notes:

  • Congrats to Dean Lewis on his first #1 on my personal chart, “Be Alright”, advancing from 2-1 this week. Lewis’s track is a recent chart-topper in his native Australia, while it’s climbing through the top 20 on the Hot AC chart here. It’ll likely stay at #1 next time around, though a handful of alternative crossovers from acts like Imagine Dragons and Panic! At The Disco, as well as a duet from Marshmello x Bastille, will look to claim the top spot soon. Three new titles are in the mix this week, with “Sucker Punch” by Sigrid coming in the highest at #38. A year ago, her first entry here, “Don’t Kill My Vibe”, went to #16. “Sucker” impacts at the Alternative format later this month. The first collaboration from Lauv and Julia Michaels follows at #39, “There’s No Way”. It’s one of (at least) eight singles impacting at the Top 40 format on Tuesday. Michaels topped my chart for a week in April of last year with “Issues”. Finally, at #40, the third top 40 single from the boy band Why Don’t We arrives. The title track from their current set 8 Letters is the group’s second song to chart this year, with “Trust Fund Baby” peaking at #14 during the spring.
