Chart Notes:

  • Congrats to George Ezra on his second consecutive #1 song on my personal chart, “Shotgun”, moving 2-1 in its 11th week in the top 40. It follows “Paradise”, which had a three-week run this past spring and is still on my chart, now at #31 in its 31st week. It’s been quite a ride, but is it enough for “Paradise” to secure the top spot on my Top 100 of 2018? Kind of early to be teasing a year-end chart, don’t you think? Check back in… four months to see what happens. In the meantime, look for “Shotgun” to stick at the top through sometime next month. Just below Ezra’s song, Kacey Musgraves‘s “High Horse” (climbing 9-5) and Niall Horan and Maren Morris‘s “Seeing Blind” (climbing 13-10) are solid contenders for my next #1 title, the latter becoming Horan’s fifth consecutive top ten hit from his album Flicker. Of course, the previous four singles from the set went to #1, so the pressure is on! Up ten notches from last week’s top 40, Dean Lewis‘s “Be Alright” (climbing 33-23) and Elle King‘s “Shame” (climbing 37-27) tie for the week’s Biggest Mover, and both should enter the top ten in the next month or so. Additionally, there are two debuts on the current update: “Loyal To Me” (#39) by Nina Nesbitt and “Summer On You” (#40) by PRETTYMUCH. “Loyal” marks the first chart entry for Nesbitt, after bubbling under with “Somebody Special” earlier this year, while “Summer” is the second hit for the five-man group, who got to #10 last year with “Would You Mind”.
