ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (May 8, 2018)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: impacting tracks by NF and The Weeknd face off against Drake for the title of Most Added on this Tuesday’s results. Whose name we will call out? Let’s add ’em up:

“NICE” TO BE WITH YOU: Things got competitive late into the afternoon in the race for the Most Added release on this week’s pop report, but with Drake‘s “Nice For What” continuing its scorching run up the charts, it blows past its competitors to claim the the top spot for the first time. Up from second place last week, “Nice” gets extra nice at 43 new stations, pacing ahead of NF‘s “Lie” (29) and The Weeknd‘s “Call Out My Name” (23), both solid in their own right. The latter two songs have yet to reach the top 50, but that will soon change! Both cuts originate from former #1 albums on the Billboard 200 list: the latter is taken from Perception, which ruled for a week last October, and the latter is taken from My Dear Melancholy,, an EP that ranked at #1 in April.

One other record of note this week comes from producers NOTD and singer Bea Miller titled “I Wanna Know”. Wanna know the number of adds it received? Sure you do: a dozen, tying it for seventh place. The two guys have never charted at this format before, though they have remixed a number of songs that have received airplay in the past. Miller has two minor entries to date; “Know” is likely to become her second top 40 song, which follows “Young Blood”, peaking at #38 in December 2014.
