RADIO REPORT: What’s Popping At Top 40 Radio This Week (March 5-6, 2018)

It’s time once again to analyze the airwaves and find out if your favorite new releases will be lighting up your local station’s playlist this week. Which tunes will climb to the top and which ones will hit a stop? Here are three new hits impacting this week at the Top 40 format:

ARLISSA & JONAS BLUE – “Hearts Ain’t Gonna Lie” (Def Jam)
Album/EP: TBA (2018)
Past T40 History: This is Arlissa’s first time at the Top 40 format; Blue’s “Mama” (with William Singe) reached #31 in October.

LOGAN HENDERSON – “Bite My Tongue” (HERØ/RED)
Album/EP: TBA (2018)
Past T40 History: Henderson is a newcomer to this format as a soloist, but charted three times with the quartet Big Time Rush.

MEGHAN TRAINOR – “No Excuses” (Epic)
Album/EP: TBA (2018)
Past T40 History: After a rocky sophomore era, Trainor is in the hunt for her ninth top 40 entry and second #1 title at the format.

Also look out for: a reissue of “Échame La Culpa”, with a newly-released remix featuring added English lyrics, by Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato, as well as potentially significant action on “Top Off”, a collaboration combining the talents of DJ Khaled, Jay-Z, Future and Beyoncé, credited as just B.

Next week: new releases from In Real Life, Kent Jones and superstar Taylor Swift officially launch here, though Jones’s song (“Merengue”) is already charting. Will Swift be delicate with her competitors? Stay tuned.

Which of these new songs would you like to see top the charts? Let me know!
