ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (December 5, 2017)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: G-Eazy and Halsey have a “Him” for the weekend, leading the pack on a busy Tuesday at the format. Let’s add up all those fresh finds and station sensations this week:

“I” ON THE PRIZE: There’s no limit to how fast G-Eazy and Halsey‘s collaboration “Him & I” will fly up the pop list, thanks in part to a big week at the format during its official impact. Starting at 73 stations, it’s easily the Most Added record on the report. In the next few days or so, it should officially reach the top 40 on the CHR survey, having entered the top 50 on this morning’s rolling update. You’ll find the hit on G-Eazy’s upcoming album titled The Beautiful & Damned, out on December 15. (The first single from it, “No Limit”, recently climbed to #1 on the Rhythmic and Urban charts, though its Top 40 action has been minimal.)

The Steve Aoki remix of “MIC Drop” by BTS and Desiigner continues its quick ascent up the charts and with the panel, landing in second place for the second week with another 34 stations. That tune is followed by “Home”, combining the talents of Machine Gun Kelly, X Ambassadors and Bebe Rexha, which also breaks the 30-station mark with exactly 30 adds (third place) during its impact week. “Home” is the first pop radio release from the soundtrack to Netflix’s Bright, which is also out on December 15. In a fifth place ranking, tied with a second entry at 23 adds, comes our final spotlight song: Louis Tomlinson‘s “Miss You”. His two solo top 40 singles so far have peaked at #24 (“Back To You”) and #32 (“Just Hold On”), so we’ll see if this one can go any higher.
