ADD LIB — Brace For (CHR) Impact (November 28, 2017)

Welcome to Add Lib, your Tuesday report on POP! Goes The Charts that’s mad about CHR/Top 40 adds, based on the station data provided by Mediabase 24/7 and Add Board. This week: Taylor Swift knows the “Game” well, but BTS knows how to “Drop” the surprise of the week! Time to drop some mics and a little add action on you:

IT’S NOT THE “END”: With the Thanksgiving break still on the minds of some pop programmers out there, action on this radio report is a bit limited. As expected, Taylor Swift‘s “End Game”, featuring Ed Sheeran and Future, is the Most Added single for the second week in a row, with another hefty sum of 44 stations. However, a week before its official impact, the Steve Aoki mix of “MIC Drop” by K-pop group BTS and rapper Desiigner is off to solid start, grabbing 25 adds for the runner-up spot. It is the first time that the septet has appeared this high on the adds results, though they’ve received some small airplay with other singles here.

Much of the bottom half of the top ten is loaded down with reactive collaborations, the only single making its first appearance here being Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato‘s “Échame La Culpa”, which delivers twelve new stations this week. Both Fonsi and Lovato’s “Despacito” and “Sorry Not Sorry”, respectively, hit #1 at the format earlier this year. Will they return together? Find out soon.
