Chart Notes:

  • This week’s Highest Debut is by the legendary Irish group that last reached #1 on my chart in 2004, when they spent three weeks at the top with “Vertigo”. U2 is back with “You’re The Best Thing About Me”, making a splash at #36. On December 1, the band is due to release Songs Of Experience, a companion to their 2014 album titled Songs Of Innocence. (No, you’re not going to see it magically appear in your iTunes library, don’t worry.) The single is currently ranking on the Alternative, Hot AC and Triple A radio charts.
  • Two other newcomers enter on this week’s chart: trio Magic Giant is new at #39 with “Window”, while former America’s Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal comes in at #40 with “Moonlight”. The Los Angeles act had a minor entry on the Alternative radio chart earlier this year called “Set On Fire”, while the New York singer/songwriter bubbled under my own list beginning late last year with “I Don’t Know My Name”. Stay tuned to see how they do!
