Chart Notes:

  • This week’s Highest Debut is the 29th top 40 hit on my chart for a singer who made her debut in 2000 with the song “There You Go”. 17 years later, pop superstar P!nk climbs aboard at #35 with “What About Us”. This cut is the lead single from her forthcoming album Beautiful Trauma, which is due October 13. When it premiered on Thursday, “What” topped the iTunes charts in over a dozen countries, including the United States.
  • Singer Ed Sheeran has three top ten songs to his credit from the chart-topping ÷ album: “Castle On The Hill” (#2), “Shape Of You” (#8) and “Galway Girl” (#10). This week, his potential fourth top ten single from the set enters at #38. “Perfect” has a bit of early support at three Hot AC stations, though that total is expected to grow in the coming weeks.
  • Finally, at #39, is the third top 40 entry for 19-year-old singer/songwriter James TW. “Please Keep Loving Me” follows his recent #3 song called “Ex”, though his biggest hit came last fall with a seven-week #1 titled “When You Love Someone”. This single was recently serviced to the Hot AC format, where “When” reached the top 30.
