Chart Notes:

  • This week’s Highest Debut is by the group who had the third-biggest song on Alternative radio in 2015 with “Renegades”. It spent 11 weeks at #1. Two years later, X Ambassadors is looking for a chart-topper on both that radio list and my own top 40 with “Ahead Of Myself”, which is taken from their forthcoming album. It enters at #36. Their Cayuga Sound Festival is a little less than two months away, and I’m sure they’ll be playing plenty of new material at it.
  • The four members of the final (well, at least for now) lineup of One Direction are now in my top 40 as soloists, with Niall Horan at #1, Liam Payne at #2 and #24, Harry Styles at #18 and #23, and coming in at #37, Louis Tomlinson‘s first solo entry on my personal chart, “Back To You”. The song features Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals. Hey ZAYN, where are you? Let’s make it all five original members on the chart at the same time!
  • Finally, at #40, is the first entry on my chart for a new boy band called PRETTYMUCH. “Would You Mind” was released a week ago, getting all sorts of New Music Friday playlisting across the globe, while it impacts at Top 40 radio on August 22.
