Chart Notes:

  • In her ninth week on the chart, Adele advances from 2-1 with “Water Under The Bridge”. Now, you’re probably saying, “Oh, look, another Adele song at #1. What’s so special about that?” Well, dear blog reader, something is different about her latest chart-topping single. “Bridge” is her eighth #1 on my survey, which gives her (and her alone) the record for the most #1 songs of all-time. She passes Coldplay in the process, who currently stand at seven. You go, girl! Is a ninth in her future next year? Stay tuned…
  • There are two talented trios debuting on my chart, and the higher of the two is at #39 as the week’s Highest Debut. The three women of MUNA are Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin and Naomi McPherson, and their latest single is “I Know A Place”. Earlier this year, their song “Loudspeaker” cracked the top 50 on the Triple A radio survey. They also have nearly 50 million streams on Spotify, and that number will continue to surge in the new year.
  • After a crazy 2016, we all need some “Good News”, and the new group Ocean Park Standoff is here to provide some. They come in at #40 this week. Members Ethan Thompson, Pete Nappi and Samantha Ronson are looking forward to getting their song on the air at both CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC radio stations, with impact dates scheduled at both in the next few weeks.
