NEW MUSIC FRIDAY: Releases For The Week of November 11, 2016

"Thinking" of a large debut.

“Thinking” of a large debut.

We occasionally have the quiet week in Q4, but there are still some great releases on the schedule this week. Here are the notable albums and singles to take a listen to:

STING — 57th & 9th (iTunes)
With the recent death of Leonard Cohen, next week’s chart is likely to be a little more unpredictable than expected. However, the new release by this performer will probably be in the running for a top ten debut, or possibly higher. The current single from it is “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You”, which is headed towards #1 on the Triple A radio chart.

EMELI SANDÉ — Long Live The Angels (iTunes)
Sandé’s latest set is her first studio album since 2012, but she’s worked with a number of different acts since that release. “Hurts” has been a mid-charting song in some countries, and it’s receiving some minor airplay at Hot AC radio here. This should do much better than the #28 peak of her debut effort.

Christmas albums out this week: Leslie Odom Jr.‘s Simply Christmas (iTunes)

More albums out this week: A Tribe Called Quest‘s We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service (iTunes), Enigma‘s The Fall Of A Rebel Angel (iTunes), Joe‘s #MyNameIsJoeThomas (iTunes), Nathan Sykes‘s Unfinished Business (iTunes), Olly Murs‘s 24 HRS (iTunes), Ronnie Dunn‘s Tattooed Heart (iTunes), The Griswolds‘s High Times For Low Lives (iTunes)
