Chart Notes:

  • Sting‘s “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You” sees a notable boost this week, up 19-14. If he makes the top ten, he’ll be the first artist over 60 since 67-year-old Elton John in 2014, and the second oldest act (at 65) ever to hit the region. Singles by two Adam’s Top 40 favorites, Adele (“Water Under The Bridge”, 38-30) and Maroon 5 (“Don’t Wanna Know”, 28-21), look as though they’ll be searching for a spot in the top ten as well. Lots of action heading into the end of the year…
  • In August 2012, the singer named LP ranked In The Mix with her song “Into The Wild”. It had been running in a Citibank ad for some time. Well, that single never made it onto my top 40, but just over four years later, her current hit in Europe does. “Lost On You” is this week’s lone debut at #38. It’s currently in rotation at a handful of Alternative and Triple A outlets. Will it become one of 2017’s big U.S. radio records? Stay tuned.
  • Only four more weeks until the end of 2016 Chart Year! It’ll be here before you know it! Have a safe and fun Halloween, and don’t forget to check out the debut episode of Crowncast, featuring yours truly, on Crownnote.
