Chart Notes:

  • The winner of this year’s top 40 egg hunt is Fitz & The Tantrums, who just debuted their latest single on Thursday. The song is called “HandClap”, and it extends its hands out to reach the #36 spot. It leads their forthcoming album, a self-titled effort, due on June 10. The band’s biggest song on my chart remains their first, “MoneyGrabber”, which spent a week at #1 in 2011.
  • Former Disney star Demi Lovato also enters on this week’s countdown, new at #39 with “Stone Cold”. Her pretty ballad, co-written by Lovato, can be found on the album Confident, which contains two prior radio hits in the title track and “Cool For The Summer”. A video for it premiered in late February.
  • The third top 40 entry from Duran Duran‘s Paper Gods album is this week’s final debut. “Last Night In The City” has yet to paint the town red, at least at U.S. radio, but it enters at #40 on my chart. The song features Kiesza, who hit the top 20 in 2014 with “Hideaway”.
