Chart Notes:

  • After two weeks at #1, Thomas Rhett‘s reign at the top is no more. However, another solo male performer replaces him. He’s Troye Sivan. Born in South Africa, raised in Australia, and now, taking over the world, he’s up 2-1 with “YOUTH”. It marks the first time that Sivan leads my chart, which also happens to be his first entry here. If you like a good discount, the song is on sale for 69 cents at iTunes, driving it into the top ten overall.
  • This week’s Highest Debut is from the Canadian-based musician named BANNERS. He makes the countdown at #37 with “Start A Riot”, while his former #4 hit, “Shine A Light”, falls off the top 40 this week. Talk about good timing! “Shine” took the #1 spot at Alternative radio up north, but it stalled in the 40’s at the format here. “Start” impacts at U.S. radio in April.
  • The week’s only other debut is from former American Idol winner Nick Fradiani and “Get You Home”. It’s new at #39. A little under a year ago, “Beautiful Life” (his coronation song) entered my chart and made the top 30. A live performance of “Get” on Idol recently boosted it into the top 200 on iTunes.
