Chart Notes:

  • 19-year-old English singer Birdy flies onto my personal chart for the first time this week with “Keeping Your Head Up”. It comes in at #39 as the Highest Debut. The song is from her upcoming album Beautiful Lies, due on March 25, and goes for adds at Hot AC radio next week. Her cover of “Skinny Love” stalled in the 30’s at the format two years ago. We’ll see if this single can do any better for the young performer.
  • “Torches” is the latest top 40 entry by Daughtry, and a single from It’s Not Over… The Hits So Far. (Can you believe they made it to a greatest hits album?) The song debuts at #40 this week. It’s the quintet’s 13th hit to reach my top 40 since “It’s Not Over” debuted in 2006. Of those 13, two went to #1: “No Surprise” in 2009 and “Crawling Back To You” in 2011.
  • Next week could be a battle of the sophomore singles as potential debuts on my chart. While there are several listed below my chart at the moment, songs by BANNERS and Nick Fradiani have the most potential right now. Stay tuned to see if they, or any other acts, debut next Sunday!
